Spring Workday, Saturday, May 3

Here at Beacon Hill Friends House, we have a special event twice a year that lets residents, meeting members, and friends of the house put our time and energy into caring for and improving our physical space. In the past, we have repaired dining room chairs, painted the Butler’s Pantry and a guest bathroom, done deep cleaning and installed energy-saving lights. Work day is fun and rewarding because it gives us the opportunity to give back to the community by making a very tangible difference while cooperating on a task.

This spring, we have a variety of tasks to accomplish ranging in skill level from basic (cleaning and moving heavy things) to advanced (carpentry and construction). Our big project will be building a bike shed in the kitchen courtyard. If you have any relevant experience, or just want to lend a hand for a few hours, we’d be glad to have you!

BHFH’s fall work day will be on Saturday, May 3 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with an ice cream party to follow. If you’d like to come and help, please contact Holly (hbaldwin@bhfh.org) and let us know to expect you. If you have special skills you’d like to use, let us know about them as well.

Many thanks!
