Partner Event | Community Transformation in India through Right Sharing (Right Sharing of World Resources)
Join us to learn about the work of Right Sharing of World Resources, a Quaker micro-lending organization that works to relieve the burdens of materialism and poverty alike through partnerships of equity around the world.
We will hear from Dr. R. Kannan, RSWR Field Representative in India, about how RSWR provides resources to help marginalized women in Kenya, India, and Sierra Leone transform their communities; and provides opportunities for those with wealth to explore the power of enough and to share rightly from abundance.
Dr. Kannan will share images and stories of the women he works with in India and the changes taking place in their communities as a result of the work of Right Sharing. He will be joined by former RSWR Board member Lisa Graustein of Beacon Hill Friends Meeting.
About the speaker:
Dr. Kannan has worked with Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR) in southern India for more than 20 years. He is a committed Gandhian worker who has partnered with hundreds of small grassroots organizations to receive RSWR grants and start micro-enterprise projects. This has enabled thousands of women to start small businesses, provide for their families, and become more active in their communities. More about Dr. Kannan can be found on RSWR’s website at rswr.org/meet-our-teams
