Advocacy for the Long Haul: An FCNL Workshop & Team Launch
Pizza and salad served from 5:30pm; workshop 6-9pm. Be sure to register online so we order enough pizza for you!
What can we do to change what’s happening in this country? For over 75 years, the Friends Committee on National Legislation has shown that our voices can make an impact on federal policy.
Join Sarah Freeman-Woolpert of FCNL for an energizing workshop that will provide concrete strategies for effective advocacy and a structure for taking next steps together.
* Influence your members of Congress and their staff through face-to-face conversations
* Drive the media coverage you want to see
* Build a strategic team in your community that lobbies as part of a powerful national advocacy network
* Join FCNL’s 2019 Advocacy Team campaign to stop endless wars by urging Congress to reassert its constitutional authority. Advocacy Teams are supporting legislation to repeal the AUMF and encourage public debate on all issues of war and peace.
Free and open to the public. Advance registration requested.
Childcare available by advance request: email firstname.lastname@example.org by May 9. (We will do our best to provide childcare if requested later than May 9, but more notice helps us find a childcare provider.)
*We’ll provide pizza and salad. Please email email@example.com by May 13 to let us know if you need a gluten-free or vegan pizza. You are of course welcome to bring a bag supper if this doesn’t meet your needs.
