Change is in the air at BHFH!

In early January we will wave goodbye to Holly Baldwin as she leaves on her sabbatical, and we will welcome Steve Chase as Interim Director.

Holly has served as Director of Beacon Hill Friends House for eleven years now, and the Board approved a three-month sabbatical to give her a well-deserved opportunity for personal, spiritual, and/or professional growth and renewal.  Holly says she will be following the promptings of the Spirit to explore places and communities that excite her and help her reconnect with her sense of calling in the world. She’ll be taking a long road trip, and plans to have Tucson, Arizona as her home base—unless the Spirit directs her otherwise! We wish Holly much joy, fulfillment and freedom on her sabbatical.

In a wonderful example of way opening, we have been able to hire Steve Chase as Interim Director for January through March. Steve has been Director of Education at Pendle Hill and directed the Advocacy for Social Justice and Sustainability Masters Program at Antioch University New England.  He brings over three decades of experience living in communal houses. Steve frequently speaks on spiritual activism and radical faithfulness—including speaking at Friends House over the years—and is the author of Letters to a Fellow Seeker: A Short Introduction to the Quaker Way.  His gifts will be valuable as the House moves toward a strong focus on social justice and Quaker learning.
