Monday, March 5: A Path Forward for Government – Relationship Building in a Time of Political Division
Join us Monday, March 5th for the first of our Spring 2018 Speaker Series, “Living Our Values”
A Path Forward for Government – Relationship Building in a Time of Political Division
7:30-9:00PM, Meeting Room
Through sustained engagement on a local and national level, the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) – the Quaker lobby in Washington – seeks to shape national policy and dialogue to better reflect the values of Friends around the country. How do we shape public narratives about issues like climate change at a time of extreme political division? What is transformational about relationship building for policy change? Why is persistent citizen lobbying from a place of faith so important, and how is it shaping the discourse in Congress? Join Emily Wirzba, FCNL’s lead lobbyist on sustainable energy and environmental issues, for a discussion of how faith-led advocacy is leading to hopeful outcomes on climate change and other concerns.
