Happy belated Solstice, and welcome to Summer!

There is a lot that’s special about sharing in a meal with your community ‘Breaking bread’ has broader spiritual and religious connotations – and at base, breaking bread comes down to each individual meeting their need to eat, and enjoying that food we hope, right next to each other.

There is something deeply connective in the experience of meeting your needs alongside other people, and having that experience be easeful, playful, and joyful. Throw in some pingpong and Vickie’s grilled veggies, and you’ve got a little taste of the Divine.

And on that note, you are cordially invited to our annual Summer Cookout! Friends, family, BHFH board members, and others connected to BHFH are all welcome to join our BHFH residents at this jubilant open house event for food, fellowship, and some fun outdoor and indoor games. Join us, and bring your friends! We’d love to break bread with you there.

The cookout and festivities will take place on Saturday, July 15, from 12-4 pm at the Beacon Hill Friends House, 8 Chestnut St, Boston, MA 02108. Rain date is TBD.

Note: Masks are still required inside of our building (we will have some available if need be). RSVP is requested, not required. Potluck contributions of non-refrigerated side dishes, desserts, and snacks are appreciated but not required. (Please note this is an alcohol-free event.)

If you are looking for more information about the event or want to RSVP, you can do so here: https://lu.ma/bhfh-cookout-2023

We are really excited to see you all there!

With care,
