A Picturesque Place to Stay

Dear Friends,
Boston, as you may well know, is such a lovely city to visit, especially in the warmer weather! Our hospitality program, with our one guest room on the second floor, is still thriving! It has been my pride and joy over the years to create a not so typical home away from home for all who stay with us.
And we have some friends who come back year after year! Here’s a testimonial from Paul, a longtime Boston marathon runner, who stays with us each year for the Boston Marathon:
“I have had the pleasure of staying at The Boston Friends House on Beacon Hill many times over the past 8 yrs. It’s always a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, quiet, friendly and clean place to stay in Boston… Keep in mind this is NOT a hotel experience, so it is important to be flexible and open minded. During your stay you will be around a variety of educated, well traveled, like minded people who span the ages.
Moving on to the specifics: Deck and Sun; The house has a really large sunny deck and is a great spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Food; for a minimum charge you can enjoy a healthy dinner prepared by the house chef, Vickie and shared with the members Sun – Thur. … Overall, It’s always a great experience staying at the Beacon Hill Friends House. “A short walk up a cobblestone lane, then down a tree lined avenue, and you are metres and yet miles from the hustle and bustle of Boston Common. You are stepping into a historic, picturesque neighborhood.
Inside a red brick sanctuary, windfall light filters through centuries old glass panes, touching gently on houseplants, first edition books, and seats. So many seats, because remember this is, after all, a meeting house. A community. Some will talk. Some won’t. … Have breakfast. Share a bathroom, and sleep well.”
