BHFH Parties with the Hill
Beacon Hill Friends House residents love engaging with their neighbors, so when we were asked to participate in this year’s Beacon Hill Block Party on September 20, several hands went up.
Lilah, Billy and Daniel organized and implemented some fun awareness-raising tabling activities for the event. Additional Housies came out to support and enjoy the popular event.
The event was a hoot. Several organizations were attendance including the Esplanade Association and Suffolk University. There was food, sweets, and even children’s clothing for sale. One table was selling books from a paper grocery bag for $1 each!
A band played oldies while BHFH residents entertained young attendees with face painting and board games. We played Apples to Apples and told party-goers about the House and the mission. Some interested individuals signed up for our newsletter and one kind woman even offered to cook the house dinner!
The residents in attendance were pleased with the experience and glad to be the first Housie ambassadors to participate in the annual event.
