Cataloging the BHFH library: There’s an app for that
When the Greene family gave their home to the Quakers in 1957, the bequest included an extensive collection of books in the second floor library.
Kitchen manager Myles Louis Dakan began cataloging the books last Fall. Last week, that effort got a huge boost from nine volunteers who spent the day documenting 694 of the volumes exploring history, biography and spirituality, among other topics.
The volunteers showed up courtesy of Keller Williams Realty, which conducts a nationwide day of service on the second Thursday of May each year. You can see examples of good work by KW teams
here.
You can take a look at more than 1,000 of the books in the BHFH library courtesy of Library Thing, a service that not only documents our books but shows other libraries with the same volumes. Take a look at the stats page to get a feel for what we’ve got!
There are plenty of books still to be cataloged, so let us know if it’s something you’d like to help us with.
