Our Response to COVID-19 for Public Programming
Dear Friends,
We have been working hard to monitor and follow the rapidly changing situation around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, maintaining our commitment to cultivating community while making sure everyone is safe. And at this point, Beacon Hill Friends House has decided to make all of our upcoming public programs online only, for the foreseeable future.
However, we have also decided at this time to expand our online programmatic offerings. Part of the work under my charge is to make the Friends House a vital hub of Quaker life, learning and action. As I see it, the key word in this time is vitality.
We know that human beings do not thrive in isolation. To put it more positively, human beings are meant for community. At the Friends House, this is one of our core values. We want to ensure we can still have opportunities to cultivate and nurture community in this time of cancellations of events that bring us together in-person.
You can learn more about our upcoming virtual programming here.(bhfh.org/virtualprograms)
We are creating other programmatic offerings on a rolling basis (including currently exploring book groups, small groups, and workshop offerings). If you have an idea for a program please email me at program@bhfh.org or call our office at 617-227-9118.
In Light, health and community,
Jen Higgins-Newman for the Beacon Hill Friends House
